Dr. Badia is a hand and upper extremity orthopedic surgeon. He also founded the Badia Hand to Shoulder Center and serves as CMO of OrthoNOW, both based in Doral, Fla.

The BioPro Modular Thumb Implant is designed to replicate normal thumb orientation as well as adjust to fit  different thumb anatomy and improve thumb function.

“In general, the main advantage of joint replacement surgery is no bridges have been burned, there is a much faster recovery, minimal pain and good maintenance of the anatomy,” said Dr. Badia in a statement. “If a patient’s basal joint symptoms persist, the implant can be easily removed, and a more standard surgical procedure [can be] performed.”
