The move comes after ChitogenX completed its preclinical arthroscopic surgery program, according to a news release.

The new development program is being funded by a $750,000 grant from Axelys. Under the program, ChitogenX’s proprietary arthroscopic repair procedure will be tested on 22 sheep.

The first surgeries will begin in November.

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
