Anika Therapeutics to showcase cartilage repair scaffold solution: 4 things to know

Anika Therapeutics will showcase its Hyalofast cartilage repair scaffold at the 2019 International Cartilage Repair Society Summit in San Diego, Jan. 17-18.

Four things to know:

1. Anika Therapeutics is an orthopedic and regenerative medicine company specializing in treatments using its proprietary hyaluronic acid technology.

2. At the summit, orthopedic surgeon Alberto Gobbi, MD, will present findings from a 10-year follow-up study of patients treated with Hyalofast HA scaffold with bone marrow aspirate concentrate in a one-step surgical procedure.

3. Dr. Gobbi’s session will also compare Hyalofast to autologous chondrocyte implantation and matrix autologous chondrocyte implantation, two-step surgeries requiring cell activation.

4. Hyalofast been used to treat more than 15,000 patients and is pending regulatory approval in the U.S. following its FastTRACK phase 3 trial, which is currently enrolling patients across the U.S. and Europe.
