The surgery was done for a college-aged athlete who had chronic pain from a previous meniscectomy, according to a Feb. 6 news release. RejuvaKnee, developed by Regenity Biosciences, has FDA clearance and has been shown to support a more complete recovery by facilitating regeneration of native meniscus tissue.

Dr. Fleissner plans to perform more meniscus repairs with the implant, the release said.

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
