Concussion Bill for Student Athletes Passes Ohio Senate

The Ohio Senate has passed a student-athlete concussion bill stating students would have to be removed immediately from play when they show signs of concussion, according to a report from The Columbus Dispatch.

The legislation was unanimously approved and requires additional education for parents, coaches and officials about concussion symptoms. The state’s department of health will develop an information sheet on concussions and head injuries, according to the report, and parents and athletes would have to review the information before play.
