NuQu is intended for the treatment of pain and disability from degenerative disc disease. Fifteen patients from two clinical sites were treated with the therapy, and the authors concluded no one experienced serious or unexpected safety results. The results warrant a further study of the therapy’s benefits.

The study’s lead clinical investigator was Domagoj Coric, MD, a practicing neurosurgeon at Carolina Neurosurgery and Spine Associates and chief of neurosurgery at Carolina Medical Center in Charlotte, N.C.
