Lateral Locking Cage Approved for Minimally Invasive Spinal Fusion

Frontier Medical Device received its first FDA approval for the Lateral Locking Cage, a spine device for less invasive fusion, according to Upper Michigan Source.

The cage is inserted as a spacer between vertebras, and a keel plate locks the vertebras above and below the cage after surgery. The procedure can be done laterally in about two hours. The minimally invasive nature of the procedure aims to help patients recover more quickly.
