Pioneering Hand Surgeon Dr. Daniel Riordan Dies

Daniel Riordan, MD, a hand surgeon and leader in orthopedics, has passed away, according to a Times-Picayune report.

Over the course of his career, Dr. Riordan has held private practices, taught at the Tulane University School of Medicine, penned dozens of books and journal articles and developed new techniques in the field of hand surgery. He also invented a power drill for orthopedic and hand surgery and served in leadership positions for the American Society for Surgery of the Hand and the Louisiana Orthopedic Association.
