Dr. Andrew Block, PhD, of the Texas Back InstituteThe book’s titled “Presurgical Psychological Screening: Understanding Patients, Improving Outcomes.” Dr. Block wrote the book with David Sarwer, PhD, from the University of Pennsylvania.

The book describes how presurgical psychological screening can prepare a patient for surgery by making them more emotionally stable. The surgeon’s success rate is thus improve and the spine surgery more effective.
