MLB Pitcher Tommy John Joins AOSSM Campaign Against Youth Sports Injuries

Famed Major League Baseball pitcher Tommy John has joined the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine‘s STOP Sports Injuries campaign.

The STOP Sports Injuries campaign aims to educate the public about the long-term consequences of sports overuse and trauma injuries in children. According to the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, every year, more than 3.5 million kids aged 14 and younger are treated for sports injuries, more than half of which are preventable.

In addition to education about sports overuse and injuries, the campaign seeks to education the public about prevention and treatment options.
