Hospital for Special Surgery Recognized for Orthopedics

The Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City has been recognized by U.S. News & World Report as the top provider for orthopedics in the U.S.

U.S. News & World Report’s “America’s Best Hospitals” evaluates more than 5,000 hospitals and issues rankings based on reputation and measures of quality, such as patient volumes and mortality rates as well as nursing care and technology services. The list also includes rankings for specific categories of care, such as orthopedics, pediatrics and other specialty services.

“This is a tremendous honor for all who work at HSS and who constantly endeavor to advance the research and education that translate into unsurpassed patient care,” said Thomas P. Sculco, MD, surgeon-in-chief of HSS. “We are very proud of our orthopedic surgery department who have been ranked number one for five of the past six years.”
