Lawrence and Memorial Hospital Ends Sports Medicine Program

Lawrence and Memorial Hospital in New London, Conn., will discontinue its sports medicine program, according to a local Patch report.

Under the sports medicine program, athletic trainers are contracted to offer sports medicine services to local high schools and colleges. These services included preparing athletes for practices, treating injuries and referring athletes to follow-up care. A hospital spokesman said the program was “no longer sustainable.”
