OrthAlign has launched Lantern ASC, a surgical navigation platform for hip and knee replacements designed for hospitals and ASCs.
The platform combines a reusable navigation unit with a procedural Smart Pack Kit to provide real-time guidance during joint replacement procedures. It supports total hip, total knee and partial knee replacements, as well as gap balancing in primary and revision cases, according to a Nov. 5 news release.
Lantern ASC requires no capital equipment and is designed to integrate into existing surgical workflows with a small footprint and rapid setup. The full commercial launch follows FDA clearance of OrthAlign’s knee platform four months earlier and coincides with the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons’ annual meeting.
OrthAlign CEO Eric Timko said the platform allows hospitals and surgery centers to use one navigation system for hip and knee procedures, regardless of facility size, surgical volume or implant selection, according to the release.
At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
