SpineCraft received a U.S. patent for a hybrid technology that handles intraoperative registration and tracking in image-guided spine surgery.
The spine surgery systems developer and manufacturer said the patent is the first of several focused on spine surgery enabling technologies. Together, the patents are meant to establish SpineCraft’s intellectual property position around its proprietary registration and tracking technology, according to an Oct. 14 news release.
The hybrid technology and its algorithms support a surgical navigation workflow that requires no intraoperative radiation during registration and tracking. Surgeons can use it in both open and minimally invasive spine procedures.
The patent follows two FDA 510(k) clearances SpineCraft announced in May for its Orio-3D trabecular interbody platform and its Anteris thoracolumbar plate system.
At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
