Altru taps orthopedic surgeon as chief medical officer

Grand Forks, N.D.-based Altru Health System named Jeremy Gardner, MD, chief medical officer, effective Oct. 19.

Dr. Gardner has spent more than 16 years with Altru, caring for patients as an orthopedic surgeon and serving in clinical and medical leadership roles, according to an Oct. 6 news release.

He most recently served as medical director of orthopedics and neurosciences.

As CMO, Dr. Gardner will work with Altru’s medical staff and leadership team on clinical priorities, physician engagement, quality and patient safety. He will continue practicing as an orthopedic surgeon alongside his CMO responsibilities.
