CMS approved a New Technology Add-On Payment for icotec’s CMORE CT spine implant system, effective Oct. 1.

The designation provides an additional payment to eligible hospitals for the technology when used for traditional Medicare patients with specified spinal conditions and procedures, according to an Oct. 6 news release.

The CMORE CT System is a nonmetallic, radiolucent implant made entirely of Carbon/PEEK and designed for posterior stabilization of the cervicothoracic spine. It includes polyaxial screws and straight and precontoured rods.

The approval follows the system’s Breakthrough Device Designation in April 2025.

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
