Wallingford, Conn.-based Comprehensive Orthopedics & Musculoskeletal Care has provided notice of data breach impacting more than 21,000 patients.
On Feb. 12, 2026, the practice became aware of suspicious activity on its network. An investigation found that an unauthorized third party accessed certain files, according to an Aug. 14 news release from Comprehensive Orthopedics & Musculoskeletal Care.
Information that may have been impacted includes names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, government-issued IDs, financial account information, payment card information, medical information and health insurance information.
The hacking/IT incident impacted 21,897 individuals, according to a Sept. 10 report submitted to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office for Civil Rights.
