Providence College Athletics entered into a multiyear partnership with East Providence, R.I.-based University Orthopedics, naming the organization the official orthopedic provider for 19 of the college’s 21 Division I varsity teams.
University Orthopedics will provide specialized orthopedic and sports medicine care focused on injury prevention, treatment and recovery, according to a Sept. 18 news release. The agreement covers men’s and women’s basketball, cross country, field hockey, golf, lacrosse, soccer, softball, swimming and diving, tennis, track and volleyball.
University Orthopedics has more than 70 board-certified, fellowship-trained physicians specializing in sports medicine and orthopedic conditions.
