Synergy Spine Solutions’ Synergy Disc demonstrated superior clinical outcomes compared with anterior cervical discectomy and fusion at 24 months in a U.S. clinical trial.
The study evaluated 175 patients treated with the Synergy Disc across 20 U.S. sites and compared their outcomes with 192 ACDF patients, according to a Sept. 16 news release.
Synergy Disc said patients had higher composite clinical success and greater improvements in neck disability, neck and arm pain and cervical alignment. At 24 months, 92% of Synergy Disc patients achieved a clinically meaningful improvement in Neck Disability Index scores, compared with 75% of fusion patients.
The Synergy Disc received FDA premarket approval in February 2026 for single-level use from C3 to C7, and is commercially available in the United States.
