Ralph Rashbaum, MD, an orthopedic spine surgeon and co-founder of the Plano-based Texas Back Institute, has died, according to a Sept. 14 LinkedIn post.
Dr. Rashbaum was a founding partner of Texas Back Institute and worked with patients for nearly 40 years.
Dr. Rashbaum was active in medical research and received the Volvo Award for low back pain research through the International Society for the Study of the Lumbar Spine. His research was published in Spine and the Journal of Spinal Disorders & Techniques.
He focused his practice on treating patients with persistent and chronic pain, including long-term pain management care and support.
Dr. Rashbaum retired from practice in July 2022.
