Oswego (N.Y.) Health Medical Practice has expanded its orthopedic services to include cervical spine surgery and treatment through its Center for Orthopedic Care. Its first cervical spine procedure was performed Sept. 2 at Oswego Hospital.
Raman Dhawan, MD, an orthopedic and spine surgeon, leads the cervical spine service, according to a Sept. 8 news release from the health system.
The Center for Orthopedic Care offers evaluation and treatment for cervical spine conditions, including cervical epidural steroid injections, cervical discectomy, cervical fusion, anterior cervical discectomy and fusion, cervical laminectomy and cervical disc replacement.
The addition expands the center’s existing orthopedic services, which include joint replacement, sports medicine, fracture and trauma care, hand and wrist care, elbow and shoulder care, lumbar and cervical spine care, nonsurgical treatment options and comprehensive rehabilitation, the release said.
