Los Angeles-based Cedars-Sinai and Torrance (Calif.) Memorial Medical Center plan to open an orthopedic-focused ASC.

The facility will include three operating rooms and be located adjacent to the Torrance Memorial campus, according to an Aug. 25 news release from Torrance Memorial.

Physicians from the Torrance Memorial Physician Network, Cedars-Sinai and other local orthopedic and sports medicine practices will provide services at the ASC.

Cedars-Sinai’s surgery center management team will operate the facility in collaboration with Torrance Memorial.

The ASC is expected to open in January 2027.

“We are excited to bring this new resource to our community,” Heidi Assigal, senior vice president of Torrance Memorial, said in the release. “This collaboration allows us to offer patients a convenient, efficient setting for orthopedic surgical care while continuing our shared commitment to exceptional outcomes and an outstanding patient experience.”

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
