Bloomington, Minn.-based Midwest Spine and Brain Institute, a system of 13 specialty care clinics across Minnesota and Wisconsin, has disclosed a data breach tied to unauthorized access at one of its third-party vendors, 3C Care Systems LLC, a healthcare IT company.
MSBI said it determined June 18 that the breach — which occurred around Nov. 21, 2024 — exposed Social Security Numbers and medical records, according to an Aug. 14 filing with the Massachusetts Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation. Notification letters sent to affected individuals indicate full names may also have been compromised.
