Two leaders at Cleveland-based University Hospitals Neurological Institute were selected for leadership roles with national societies.
Sepideh Amin-Hanjani, MD, was named president-elect of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons during its 2026 annual scientific meeting, according to an Aug. 7 news release from the health system. She serves as director of cerebrovascular and skull base surgery and vice chair of the department of neurological surgery at UH Cleveland Medical Center.
Nicholas Bambakidis, MD, director of the UH Neurological Institute and chairman of the department of neurosurgery, was named president-elect of the Society of Neurological Surgeons.
Dr. Bambakidis will be inducted as president at the society’s annual meeting in May and serve a one-year term. He has been a member of the society since 2012.
