Three orthopedic providers reached the last-patient-out stage in an FDA study evaluating a patient-facing AI platform for postoperative care developed by clinical AI company RecovryAI.
The 15-month study enrolled 525 hip and knee replacement patients at OrthoArizona in Scottsdale, Kansas Joint & Spine in Wichita and Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore. The study generated more than 43,200 AI-patient clinical conversations, which were independently reviewed by orthopedic surgeons. RecovryAI’s planned de novo FDA submission later in 2026 will include more than 129,000 individual physician assessments, according to a July 31 news release from the company.
The prospective trial is paired with a retrospective analysis involving 579 additional patients, bringing the study population to 1,104, the release said.
