Following medical school in 1967, Dr. Henrichsen went oversees and served for a year in the Army Medical Corps as a surgeon in South Vietnam. Upon returning from war, Dr. Henrichsen spent 38 years as an orthopedic surgeon, performing spinal and joint surgeries in Auburn.
“I wanted to give back,” Dr. Henrichsen said in the report. “You feel good when people come back a lot better. In my field, people want to extend their quality of life and I usually can do that.”
His community honors him with a healthcare award at its annual state of the community dinner on May 11.
