Zimmer Biomet’s spending spree: $1.5B+ in acquisitions in 3 years

Zimmer Biomet has established itself as one of the largest players in the orthopedic medtech space and has strengthened its position with several high-profile acquisitions. 

On top of its acquisitions, in June 2026 the company secured $2.75 billion through two new revolving credit agreements.

Here are four major acquisitions totaling more than $1.5 billion made by Zimmer Biomet since 2023:

  1. Zimmer Biomet agreed to acquire an FDA-approved pain relief device for osteoarthritis and knee pain from Pacira BioSciences for $140 million.
  2. Zimmer Biomet entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Monogram Technologies, an orthopedic robotics company, for $177 million. 
  3. The company completed its acquisition of Paragon 28, a medical device company in the foot-and-ankle orthopedic sector. Zimmer Biomet acquired all of Paragon 28’s outstanding shares for $13 per share, corresponding to an equity value of about $1.1 billion.
  4. Zimmer Biomet signed an agreement to acquire Embody, an orthobiologics company, for $155 million.
