Orthopedic medtech company Medacta has introduced NextAR Hip, an augmented reality navigation system for total hip arthroplasty.
NextAR Hip provides real-time guidance for bone preparation, cup positioning and screw placement, with accurate control over cup anteversion, inclination, reaming depth as well as leg-length and offset assessment, according to a July 23 news release from Medacta.
The platform accommodates both CT-based and CT-free workflows across anterior and posterior approaches.
The first clinical cases using the NextAR Hip platform in the U.S. and Australia were recently completed.
The company’s NextAR platform also supports total knee replacement, shoulder arthroplasty and spine procedures, the release said.
