Stryker debuts handheld robotic platform for knee replacements

Medtech company Stryker has commercially launched the Mako Robotic Power System for total knee replacement procedures. 

The handheld, robotic-assisted system is compatible with Stryker’s Triathlon Total Knee System and includes intraoperative planning and a robotically enabled saw, according to a July 16 news release from Stryker. 

The launch introduces the Mako Handheld Robotics platform, alongside the Mako SmartRobotics with the Mako 4 platform. 

The new system expands access to Mako technology, providing surgeons with more robotic options for orthopedic procedures in more care settings, the release said
