The Chattanooga, Tenn.-based Center for Sports Medicine and Orthopedics is transitioning some of its procedures to a new health system, according to a July 9 report from ABC affiliate News Channel 9.
Currently, the practice completes the majority of its surgeries at CommonSpirit Memorial Hospital, but the hospital is dealing with issues impacting its outpatient imaging services.
Starting in August, total joint, foot and ankle, and sports medicine physicians with the Center for Sports Medicine and Orthopedics will provide care at Chattanooga, Tenn.-based Parkridge Health System.
Becky Farmer, the CEO of the Center for Sports Medicine and Orthopedics, said that the practice is not fully cutting ties with CommonSpirit, but is reducing its footprint.
“We’re still going to have a presence at Memorial CommonSpirit,” Ms. Farmer said in the report. “Our spine surgeons and our hand surgeons will still be there, it’s just going to be a much less of a footprint overall.”
At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
