The Global Spine Initiative highlighted several organizational milestones during its first year, including participation in the FDA’s Total Product Life-Cycle Advisory Program Pilot and acceptance of a symposium at the 2025 North American Spine Society’s Annual Meeting Scientific Program in Denver, according to a June 14 one-year impact summary shared with Becker’s.
The organization was invited to participate in the FDA program, with Doug Beal, MD, leading the initiative and involvement from GSI members. GSI also hosted a think tank roundtable focused on spine care, lumbar stenosis, instability and innovation. The discussion was chaired by Stephen Hochschuler, MD, Reginald Davis, MD, Nomen Azeem, MD, and Gurtej Singh, MD.
GSI also secured a symposium at the annual meeting titled “Aligning Spine Care: Fostering Collaboration Among Spine Care Providers.” The session is slated to be moderated by Gurtej Singh, MD, and Reginald Davis, MD, with panelists representing GSI members.
The organization also launched its “Voices Across the Spine Care Continuum” podcast and authored a paper, “Fragmentation to Integration: Rethinking Spine Care Delivery Through Collaborative Models,” led by first authors Nomen Azeem, MD, and Rita Roy, MD, with co-authors Pierce Nunley, MD, Robert Eastlack, MD, Dr. Davis, Anthony Giuffrida, MD, and Dr.Singh.
GSI reported 292,900 views and 1,500 watch hours for its physician-focused content. Individual videos generated 169,100 views, 71,495 views, 35,045 views and 16,900 views, respectively.
