The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit on June 4 rejected Globus Medical’s last-remaining patent claim against Life Spine.
In 2021 Life Spine was sued over allegations the ProLift line infringed Globus Medical’s patents, Life Spine said in a news release. Life Spine challenged the patentability of multiple patents.
In 2024 the U.S. Patent Trial & Appeal Board cancelled all claims from four patents Globus Medical asserted against Life Spine. Then in August 2025 the remaining patent claims were litigated in a jury trial.
A jury rejected Globus Medical’s infringement claims on one patent, and on June 4 the court held that the other claim was based on an invalid patent.
