Bettendorf, Iowa-based ORA Orthopedics added a Planmed XFI Cone-beam CT Scanner, a weight-bearing imaging system.

The practice is the first in the U.S. to offer the technology, according to a May 19 news release. The system captures images while patients are standing, sitting or in other weight-bearing positions.

“What sets this scanner apart is its ability to capture highly detailed, 3D images while the patient is in a natural, weight-bearing position, giving us a more complete understanding of how joints function so we can diagnose more confidently and plan more precise care,” Andrew Bries, MD, ORA medical director, said in the release.

At the Becker's 23rd Annual Spine, Orthopedic and Pain Management-Driven ASC + The Future of Spine Conference, taking place June 11-13 in Chicago, spine surgeons, orthopedic leaders and ASC executives will come together to explore minimally invasive techniques, ASC growth strategies and innovations shaping the future of outpatient spine care.
