Marc Philippon, MD, is the managing partner of The Steadman Clinic in Vail, Colo., and chairman of the Steadman Philippon Research Institute, where he also serves as director of the sports medicine fellowship and director of hip research.
Dr. Philippon is internationally recognized as one of the world’s leading orthopedic surgeons and is ranked in the top 1% of his specialty by U.S. News & World Report. Known for pioneering joint preservation techniques using arthroscopic hip surgery, he has treated close to 1,000 professional and Olympic athletes and serves as a consultant to numerous professional and Olympic organizations.
He joined The Steadman Clinic in 2005 from the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, where he directed the sports medicine and hip disorders program and fellowship. He earned his medical degree from McMaster University in Ontario, Canada, and completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Miami, Jackson Memorial Hospital. He is a founding member of the International Society of Hip Arthroscopy and a master instructor with the Arthroscopy Association of North America.
