New York system taps orthopedic surgeon

Paterson, N.J.-based St. Joseph’s Health has added Prashant Deshmane, MD, to Syracuse, N.Y.-based St. Joseph’s Physicians Orthopedic and Spine Care, where he will provide orthopedic services.

Dr. Deshmane has more than 14 years of clinical experience and focuses on adult reconstruction, shoulder surgery and sports medicine. His practice includes hip and knee replacement, and shoulder replacement procedures, according to an April 10 system news release.

He most recently served as an adult reconstruction surgeon at Utica, N.Y.-based Mohawk Valley Health System and previously practiced in South Carolina and at the Syracuse VA Medical Center.
