Vancouver, Wash.-based PeaceHealth is consolidating priority care services in Bellingham, Wash., to make room for an expanded orthopedic clinic at its main hospital campus, according to a Feb. 26 Cascadia Daily News report.
Beginning March 2, priority care at the medical office plaza near PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center will shift to the Cordata clinic, which already offers daily walk-in care with family medicine providers.
The vacated space will house a new orthopedic rapid access clinic, offering same-day care for bone and joint issues. The expansion includes three to six additional exam rooms, three orthopedic specialists and a musculoskeletal physician providing nonsurgical treatment. The clinic is expected to open later this year.
The change follows several rounds of layoffs affecting clinical and administrative staff at the medical office plaza, according to the report.
