Bert Mandelbaum, MD, performed knee surgery on Jimmy Butler, a player for the Golden State Warriors, in Los Angeles.
The surgery was to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee, according to a Feb. 9 news release from the NBA.
Mr. Butler suffered the injury during a game on Jan. 19 when he collided with another player.
He will start a rehabilitation program immediately, the team said.
