Spine medtech company Providence Medical Technology named Jim Hens as chief commercial officer, according to a Feb. 4 news release.

Mr. Hens has more than 25 years of leadership experience in the spine industry and previously held leadership roles with Silony Spine and NuVasive. His appointment with Providence comes amid rapid growth after the company published research supporting its circumferential cervical fusion technology.

“The data from the FUSE study is a watershed moment for the industry, proving that we can significantly reduce surgical failures through a tissue-sparing, circumferential approach,” Mr. Hens said in the release. “I look forward to leading this world-class team to ensure surgeons have the instruments, implants, and support they need to achieve significantly higher rates of fusion success for their patients.”
