Cleveland Clinic is offering elective surgeries at its Main Campus on Saturdays for multiple specialties including spine and orthopedics, according to a Jan. 13 news release.

The policy will go into effect Jan. 17. Specialties included are orthopedics, spine, urology, head and neck and plastic surgery.

“The feedback we have received from patients so far is extremely positive,” Scott Steele, MD, president of Cleveland Clinic’s Main Campus submarket, said in the release. “Patients appreciate having more options for care at times that work for them. We are pleased to now be able to offer surgical and procedural care on Saturdays at our Main Campus as well.”

Cleveland Clinic has already offered elective procedures on nights and weekends at some of its northeast Ohio regional locations. Since adding Saturday procedures in July, Cleveland Clinic has been able to perform almost 700 weekend surgeries across four locations.
