Jacksonville Jaguars head team physician joins UF Health

Kevin Kaplan, MD, head team physician for the Jacksonville Jaguars, has joined the University of Florida College of Medicine’s Department of Orthopedic Surgery and Sports Medicine.

Dr. Kaplan has been part of the Jaguars’ medical staff since 2009 and has served as head team physician since 2013, according to a Dec. 17 news release from the university. 

In addition to his roles with the Jaguars and UF Health, he also provides orthopedic care to patients at Orthopedic Specialists of Jacksonville, his private practice. 

Dr. Kaplan completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at NYU Langone Health, serving as executive chief resident, and then received fellowship training in orthopedic sports medicine at the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles, the release said.
