Viera (Fla.) Hospital earned approval from the Health First Board of Directors to plan and develop the Orthopedics & Spine Institute and an ASC.

Pending final approval, the facility would be on the Viera Hospital Medical Campus, according to a Dec. 10 news release shared with Becker’s.

The project would be about 60,000 square feet and include four operating rooms, two procedure bays, imaging, onsite physical therapy and office space.

Health First’s orthopedic program spans four hospitals.

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
