Stryker names COO, orthopedics president

Portage, Mich.-based Stryker has appointed Spencer Stiles as president and chief operating officer, effective Jan. 1. 

Mr. Stiles, a 27-year company veteran, will now lead Stryker’s global businesses, strategy and M&A efforts. He most recently served as group president of orthopaedics and spine, and previously held leadership roles across its medical surgery, neurotechnology and international operations, according to a Dec. 4 company news release. 

Stryker also promoted Dylan Crotty to succeed Mr. Stiles as group president of orthopaedics. Mr. Crotty, who also has 27 years of experience at the company, currently serves as president of the instruments division, extremities and Europe.
