KIC Ventures launched the VertiFix system designed to remove implants while preserving the spinous processes, according to a Dec. 2 news release.

VertiFix is designed to address failed or improperly-placed interspinous process implants. It is a patented system developed in collaboration with pain management physicians and spine surgeons. It reverses the mechanical steps to insert an interspinous device, giving physicians a predictable and controlled workflow.

VertiFix has been used in several real-world clinical cases and validated in cadaver laboratories.
