Gerald Kadis, MD, a neurosurgeon at Archbold Medical in Thomasville, Ga., has retired after more than 46 years of service, according to a Nov. 22 report from Thomasville Times-Enterprise.
After completing his residency in 1979, Dr. Kadis began his career at John D. Archbold Memorial Hospital and provided care at the hospital for more than four decades.
Dr. Kadis was responsible for many of the neurosurgery and spine surgery innovations that Archbold adopted over the years, including the Gamma Knife.
At the time of his retirement, Dr. Kadis was the third-longest tenured staff member at Archbold Medical, the report said.
