Orthopedic surgeon Mollie Manley, MD, has developed two new minimally invasive surgical techniques for common wrist injuries.
The Anatomic C Scapholunate Reconstruction Technique created by Dr. Manley addresses tears in the ligaments of the wrist, using a single, minimally-invasive incision to decrease complexity and surgical time, according to an Oct. 21 news release from Crystal Clinic Orthopaedic Center.
The second technique pioneered by Dr. Manley is the Triangular Fibrocartilage Complex Repair All Arthroscopic Knotless Technique, which is utilized to repair complex tears in the wrist cartilage due to injury from falling or twisting the wrist.
Both of the procedures were recently published in the Journal of Hand Surgery, the release said.
Dr. Manley is a hand and wrist specialist at the Crystal Clinic Orthopaedic Center.
