Dr. Smith graduated from medical school at the University of Oklahoma in Oklahoma City. He completed a general surgery internship and residency in neurosurgery at the University of Missouri at Columbia (Mo.). Dr. Smith also holds a law degree from the Loyola University School of Law in Chicago, Ill.
