Bon Secours Mercy Health, Compass Surgical Partners open orthopedic ASC

Bon Secours Mercy Health, Compass Surgical Partners have partnered with physicians to open Coastal Virginia Surgery Center in Newport News, according to a Sept. 30 news release.

Partners with the ASC secured a Certificate of Public Need and is actively pursuing AAAHC accreditation. The ASC is 20,000 square feet and will support orthopedic cases including joint replacement, spine and pain management and upper and lower extremity care.

“Opening this orthopedic ASC advances our shared goal with Bon Secours Mercy Health: to build a network of high-quality ambulatory surgery centers across a range of specialties,” Sean Rambo, president and co-founder of Compass Surgical Partners, said in the release. “With facilities already operating or in development across Virginia, Ohio, Illinois, and South Carolina, we’re making meaningful progress. Coastal Virginia Surgery Center exemplifies the high-performance model that’s possible only through strong, intentional alignment with physicians.”
