The American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society has named Sheldon Lin, MD, as its next president.
In the role, Dr. Lin will focus efforts on growing interest in the profession of foot and ankle surgery with residents and medical students, according to a Sept. 15 news release from the AOFAS.
Prior to becoming the organization’s president, Dr. Lin has served as president-elect, vice president, secretary and member-at-large on the AOFAS Board of Directors.
Dr. Lin is a foot and ankle orthopaedic surgeon at Rutgers North Jersey Orthopaedic Institute, an associate professor at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School and an attending physician at University Hospital in Newark, N.J., and Overlook Medical Center in Summit, N.J.
The AOFAS is a 2,500-member organization, the release said.
