1. David Altchek, MD, an orthopedic surgeon at Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City, performed knee surgery on Los Angeles Lakers center Andrew Bynum during the All Star break.

2. James Andrews, MD, founder of Andrews Institute for Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine in Gulf Breeze, Fla., performed ACL reconstructive surgery on Carolina Panthers’ Thomas Davis.

3. Dr. Andrews also performed shoulder surgery on professional baseball player Rich Harden, who sustained the injury while he playing with the Oakland Athletics.
