Massimo Calafiore was named CEO of Orthofix in 2023.
Here are five things to know about him.
1. Mr. Calafiore’s total compensation in 2024 was $10.6 million, according to the company’s most recent proxy filing. His pay includes salary, stock and option awards, non-equity incentive plan compensation, bonuses and other pay.
2. Before stepping into his role at Orthofix in 2024, he was CEO of LimaCorporate and chief commercial officer at NuVasive.
3. He earned his MBA from New York University in New York City and a Master of Science in mechanical engineering from the University of Catania in Italy, according to his LinkedIn profile.
4. Early in his career, Mr. Calafiore worked for Waldemar Link GmbH & Co. KG and held various leadership positions in business segments including orthopedics and spine.
5. Under his leadership Orthofix has seen year-over-year revenue growth in 2024. More recently Orthofix saw 66% more 7D Flash navigation installments year over year in the second quarter of 2025.
